Ciudad Real bullring

Upcoming celebrations

The square

The Ciudad Real Bullring is one of the most iconic bullfighting venues in Castilla-La Mancha. Inaugurated in 1843, it has witnessed more than a century and a half of bullfighting and cultural history. With traditional architecture and a capacity for approximately 7,000 spectators, it is one of the leading second-class bullrings on the national bullfighting scene.

Over the years, the bullring has undergone various improvements to modernize its facilities and offer greater comfort to both bullfighting enthusiasts and professionals. Its importance goes beyond bullfighting, as it has also served as a venue for other cultural events and shows that have enriched the city’s social life.

Throughout its history, the bullring has hosted unforgettable evenings with the presence of great bullfighting masters. Legendary figures such as Antonio Ordóñez, Curro Romero, José Tomás, and Enrique Ponce have trodden this arena, leaving behind performances that live on in the memories of fans.

The August Fair

The most important bullfighting event held in the Ciudad Real bullring is the August Fair, one of the most eagerly awaited festivals on the bullfighting calendar. During these celebrations, the bullring dresses up to welcome the leading figures of the bullfighting world and thousands of fans who come to see the high-quality line-ups.
At the end of 2024, the company Eventos Mare Nostrum took over its management, embarking on a new era with the commitment to enhancing its prestige and offering a first-class program. With extensive experience organizing bullfighting events, Mare Nostrum arrives with the intention of innovating and attracting both traditional fans and new generations.

Under its management, the bullring is expected to continue to be a benchmark in the bullfighting circuit, with top-notch lineups and a range of shows that enrich the cultural life of Ciudad Real. The commitment to quality and tradition, combined with modernization and promotional strategies, bodes well for the Ciudad Real bullring.
